From 11th-14th of October the 8th African Film Days take place in the Carl-Amery-Saal in Munich Gasteig. Under the motto „extended“, the focus this year is on current productions that take a critical look at current developments on the African continent in order to design their own future independently of the West.

6pm Silas (a documentary) in cooperation with the DOKfest Munich

8:15pm Rafiki (feature film about homophobia) followed by a conversation with the leading actress Sheila Munyiva

6pm Les Bienheureux (a social drama)
8:15pm Noem My Skollie (60er gangster drama)
Tuesday, 16. October
7:30pm Reading with author José Eduardo Agualusa in the Munich public library Neuhausen (the event will be presented as part of the series Literatur International by the Munich Public Library)
On Friday there will also be a big children’s cinema for the younger guests. This event will also be presented by the Munich Public Library as part of the Big Children’s Cinema series. It will be shown the movie „The White Lion“, which is about a boy trying to protect a white lion from poachers and other dangers.
